Hello guys! I really need your help. I used my PS4 fat with Samsung TV monitor (Full HD 32’’) for a few years now. Today I was happy to upgrade to Samsung TU8000 series TV (UHD 50’’).
After all I get black screen / no signal error on my new TV. I tried three different HDMI cables and all three ports.
It’s weird because PS4 still works on my old Samsung TV monitor with same HDMI cables without any problems.
I tried to google it. And I also tried to enter save mode and change resolution but it doesn’t changed anything..
@Bobukas try disabling HDCP in the system settings, either in safe mode or when connected to your old monitor. Not sure if you can do it in safe mode but might be worth a try before you connect it back to the old monitor.
I had this issue on certain TVs and this fixed it, hope it works for you but if not then my apologies, I can't think of anything else to try at the moment!
@Bobukas You could see if your PS4 trigger your TV from standby. Get a HDMI connection between your TV and laptop. Take the HDMI cable out of the laptop and plug it into the PS4 when the PS4 is off. Put the TV to standby and wait a minute. Press the PlayStation button on your PS4 controller. Wait for three minutes do not touch your TV remote for your TV. PS4 need to start from off not standby.
@Bobukas ah fair enough hope you find a solution, might be worth adding HDCP to the combination of variables when you are troubleshooting (flicking it on and off with the various cables and ports you are using) good luck! I'm not sure if it's possible but I'd also try setting the resolution manually to 1080p, 720p as well as automatic and messing around with the HDR setting, hopefully there's a sweet spot that will get you gaming on your new TV!
@Bobukas Mine does this occasionally (it's a Samsung) but on my TV there's this HDMI troubleshooting feature under the Connection Guide option that comes up when it can't find a source. This may be something you've already tried (if it's there for you) but I thought I'd suggest it. Usually if I run through that, sometimes a couple times, it usually starts picking up the signal.
You might also try changing the video output setting on the PS4 (while on the old TV) from automatic to 1080, just for the time being to see if it's that.
Or, and this is unlikely, maybe the Gbps is too low on the current cables you have.
Edit: For my TV to work with my Switch I have to set the RGB range to limited and I think this is something you can do with the PS4 under video settings as well (i forget). So maybe give that a shot too.

@Bobukas Yeah I don't know then. Certainly a bit of a stumper.
Have you tried unplugging hdmi from tv and plugging it back in (with playstation and tv on)? Or have you tried unplugging and plugging into all three hdmi ports on the tv?
And I'm really just throwing things out there now but I know on some Samsung TVs you can designate or name the hdmi source in the menus and I came across that as a troubleshooting option while I was having trouble. By that I mean set the hdmi port to game console or actually just try every option. I know when I set the port my computer is plugged into to PC it does funny things so I have it set to Home Theater or something like that.
Other than that I really don't know.

I can tell you that for some reason Samsung 4K TVs have weird connection issues with PS4. I know with my PS4 Pro, it always goes to a black screen for 2-4 seconds when starting up a game due to a HDMI signal issue. Apparently, it is a known compatibility situation. Hoping this is corrected for PS5
@Bobukas I'm fairly confident there's a solution somewhere; there's just no real reason to believe it can't display the signal but unfortunately I have no other ideas.
As @jmac1686 mentioned, Samsung TVs do seem to have hdmi related troubles but in my experience they aren't exclusive to the PS4. I'm on my third (and definitely last) Samsung and each time I "upgrade" more and more issues arise.
So I guess if you have a PS5 headed your way in Nov then wait till then, otherwise maybe consider selling/returning TV for another brand... If you feel you've exhausted all troubleshooting options.
