So I changed my hard drive to a 1tb tonight. Transfered all my data from the original hard drive to my new one. Installed the new hard drive, used the usb stick to install the system software. Then it booted up everything works, but when I go look at the hard drive space it doesnt recognize the bigger hard drive? What do i do?

What data did you transfer from the old HDD? Don't take my word on this, but maybe you transferred some data that makes the ps4 still think it's the old HDD or something? All I know is that when I changed my HDD on my PS3, I didn't transfer anything. I just stuck in a clean HDD, installed the system software, and redownloaded all of my digital games.

That's my only guess. That or reformat the whole thing.

Thanks, I figured it out this morning.  I had to initialize the system again I was installing the software from the usb wrong.  It cleared out the hard drive but I'll just redownload all my digital games and download all my saves from the cloud.  I was just trying to avoid that.
