Topic: Australian ps+ account

Hi guys. Just looking for some info before I buy a PS5. I have a psn+ account from Australia where I lived for 10 years. I've just moved back to Ireland. My question is, if I buy a PS5 and log on my Au account. Will the ps5 be locked to the AU shop with prices in dollars etc?....

@Kstuds No. You can have accounts from multiple different regions on the same PS5.

Although of course your Australian account will remain locked to Australia. if you switch your PlayStation plus to a different account you won’t have access to the old PlayStation plus games you’ve redeemed in the past.

Damn. That's what I was afraid of. Is there anyway of switching it to a Irish account?? Seems a bit ridiculous if there isn't.

@Ryall If I were to setup the PS5 with a new Irish account. But then setup another user with my Au account. Would I be able to play my AU library downloaded to the console on the Irish user account?? Sorry if I'm not being clear enough. Also thank you for the time to answer my questions. 👍

@Kstuds Yes, you need to make sure "console sharing and offline play" is enabled for this console on the Australian account and then any other account on the console will be able to play the games from that one. Each account can have this enabled on 1 PS5 but if it's your only/first one, it should be enabled by default.

Unfortunately I don't think you can change the region of an existing account (the reason is most likely because game availability and even the games themselves may vary slightly between regions).

@Voltan brilliant. It will be my first PS5. I'm coming from a AU PS4 pro. Should my primary account be my Au account or does it matter?

@Kstuds It shouldn't matter whether you set up the console with the AU account and then create a new one, or set it up with a new one and then add the AU one. The end result should be the same.
I guess if you're transfering stuff from the PS4, it would be easier to start with the existing account.
