Review Prototype 2 (PlayStation 3)
Heller good?
Prototype 2 is anything but subtle. The follow-up to Radical Entertainment’s 2009 murder simulator rarely gives you a moment to breathe without gunfire, rockets and tendrils of errant intestines bursting from the screen. Its anarchic approach to gameplay can grate on you, but without a meaty plot to hang its crimson hat on, it’s...

News Radical Entertainment Reduced to "Support" Role at Activision
Staff cuts
Radical Entertainment is the latest developer to fall foul to Activision’s high expectations. The developer – which recently released the middling Prototype 2 – has been dropped to a support role after a significant reduction in staff. Activision explained that it had explored “various options for the studio, including a...
News Activision Lifts The Lid On Prototype 2's RADNET Edition
RADNET is not some alternative version of the Internet that includes pleasant people
Instead it's the name of Prototype 2's limited edition first run, which includes a bunch of extra content for early adopters. Pre-order the title and you'll scoop up exclusive access to RADNET, which in turn rewards you with 55 pieces of additional content. If it...
News Prototype Comic Series Gets Digital Release Next Month
Activision knows you keep forgetting about the release of Prototype 2, so it's announced a partnership with comic book label, Dark Horse, to keep the title at the forefront of your mind

News GameStop's Prototype 2 Pre-Order Bonus Is Called, Erm, 'Butt Kicker'
It's hard to believe that a group of executives at Prototype 2 developer, Radical Entertainment, signed off on the game's exclusive GameStop pre-order bonus
Entitled the embarrassingly lame "Butt Kicker", the power upgrade is actually a modified version of the game's explosive human javelin Bio-Bomb ability — allowing you to, ahem, kick...
News Prototype 2 Loves Slow-Motion Camera Panning
One thing's clear about Activision and Radical Entertainment's upcoming open-world superhero adventure -- it loves slow-motion
The latest trailer for Prototype 2 shows the gravel-voiced protagonist out in pursuit of the previous game's hero, Alex Mercer. And being a Prototype game, there's some pretty gross-out gore along the way.
News Prototype Series Aims For a Trilogy (Or More)
Despite the lukewarm response to the series' tentpole, Prototype and Prototype 2 developers Radical Entertainment seem intent on bring a third entry to the series
In a recent interview with PSU, when asked in regards to whether this entry would see the end of the franchise, executive producer Ken Rosman decided to respond "A virus can keep...
GamesCom 2011 Activision Teases The Evolution Of Awesome With Prototype 2
Prototyping
If you're going to release a twenty-second trailer for your game, you may as well pack that time with helicopters and people climbing on them, right? That's exactly what Activision decided to do for this Prototype 2 trailer, which is the very definition of a "teaser". Catch it after the jump.
Activision's kicked off Comic-Con with a slew of North American release date announcements
Prototype 2 was the first to get a date, with the distant April 24th, 2012 being the target. Next up was Silicon Knights' X-Men Destiny, a game that, admittedly, we've seen very little of. That game's scored a September 27th release date. Finally, Activision...
News Prototype Hits The PlayStation Store This Week
Prototype's the very definition of an "impulse buy" sorta game
The title got decent reviews at launch and has maintained a limited but vocal fan-base. It's been on our "to-do" list for quite some time actually. So it's with some anticipation that we've got wind of Activision's plans to bring the open-world superhero title to the...
News VGA 2010: Prototype 2 Kills Monsters With Monsters In 2012
Perhaps one of the worst kept secrets of the VGAs this year, Activision's announced Prototype 2 for release in 2012
The game introduces a new protagonist, Sgt. James Heller, who's been tasked with destroying the previous game's antihero, Alex Mercer. That's a nice little twist. Still, Activision's slapped a 2012 release date on this. It's hard to...
News The Prototype Intro Is Pretty Cool/Bloody Gross
This is the intro to the upcoming Prototype, an ostentatious open-world affair where you practically have all the powers of a small army
Needless to say it looks quite good. And this intro is no exception; it's awesome.
