The Gran Turismo 5 Delay Might Not Be Quite As Bad As First Assumed.

According to a Japanese-based colleague of GameReactor, Polyphony's claiming the game is just three days behind schedule. Of course, those extra three days of development could mean weeks in terms of getting the game into consumers hands — but it suggests the delay might not be quite as frightening as first assumed.

Polyphony's gaffer Kazunori Yamauchi personally apologised for the delay this morning, attributing the added development time to "ironing out the kinks". Other rumours across the 'net are slightly more radical - with some sites claiming the delay is down to new firmware requirements.

Sony would do well to announce the new date as soon as possible. The rumours won't stop flying until Gran Turismo's on store shelves.
