You'll Be Able To Play As The Chimera In Uncharted 2 As Soon As Next Week.

Remember the awesome Uncharted 2: Among Thieves DLC we told you about yesterday? Sony’s confirmed it’s coming next week, alongside a demo if you’re yet (why not!?!) to play the game.

The DLC, entitled the “Playstation Heroes Skin Pack” brings Cole and Zeke from inFamous, Nathan Hale and the Chimera from Resistance and Sev and the Helghast from Killzone 2. It’ll cost £3.99/$4.99.

Well, if there was ever a way to get me back into Uncharted 2: Among Thieves’ multiplayer component, it’d involve character skins from other games.  Which is exactly what’s going to happen according to SCEJ, as upcoming DLC will feature inFamous, Resistance and Killzone 2 skins.

Siliconera’s got some shots of the DLC, which are due in Japan net week. They also note a map pack is due on February 25th, including an area from Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, with a further pack planned for April. Awesome.

Come On, You Know You Want Them. All Of Them.

Need an excuse to spend money? Dude, yes. A fan of Insomniac Games? Duhhhhhhh. Then you’re going to want the newly launched Ratchet & Clank and Resistance action figures from DC Unlimited.

If you want them, it’s probably worth calling your local comic store first, as we doubt they’ll be carried everywhere. Though, they are so awesome they should be available in every store, everywhere. It’d be a crime not to, right?

Resistance 2 Was Packed With Epic Set Pieces... Inbetween The Boring Bits.

You know, life is a funny thing. Although vastly inferior to Resistance: Fall Of Man, we still spent around 40 hours playing Resistance 2 in total. It wasn’t that the game as a whole was worse – co-op was an absolute blast – it was mainly the campaign that was the problem. It just wasn’t very good was it? There were some breath-taking graphical moments, but that was all just marred by mediocrity — something fans let developers Insomniac Games know about.

Being generally lovely people who aim to please their fan base with every product, Insomniac took that flack pretty deep. In an interview with Videogamer.com, Insomniac’s James Stevenson said the backlash was a bit like “your dog turning on you”. He explained, “you had this dog that loved you. You loved the dog, too, but they expressed all this affection for you. And then suddenly the dog bites your hand and it’s that feeling of, ooh, ow, that really hurts.”

While it’s not the best analogy in the world, we imagine James means Insomniac were pretty disappointed all around. Which will surely spur them on to make something uber awesome in Resistance 3. And reintroduce that darn weapons wheel.

Killzone 2; Now Officially A Lot, Lot Cheaper.

If you’ve been waiting on picking up Metal Gear Solid 4, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 then perhaps it’s time you picked them up. They’ve just gone platinum, i.e. cheap. All four titles can now be bought in garish packaging for £19.99.

If you’ve just jumped into the world of Playstation 3 via the recent price drop, we actually recommend you buy all four games.

Killzone 2? Motorstorm: Pacific Rift? Resistance 2? Nope… SOCOM: Confrontation. SCEA’s Mark Rogers is basing this statistic by counting the number of simultaneous Playstation Network connections. He bases the game’s success off the community’s commitment to the franchise.

Rogers concluded that dedicated fans will be rewarded by an upcoming patch that will change the scale and scope of the game.

We wonder what MAG will have to say about all this?

Sony just emailed to let us know that the Resistance 2 Home Space is available in Europe now. Don’t know what they’re smoking but, erm, it’s not. Anyway. The Resistance 2 Home Space – which we’re presuming will be on European servers soon and May 21st in US – features Resistance 2 game launching and a jazzed-up space invaders minigame where you fend off Chimeran aircrafts.
