Well that rumour popped up and was quashed in minutes wasn’t it? We like it that way. TheSixthAxis reported this morning that Guerrilla Games’ Killzone 2 is due a Playstation Motion Controller patch. But SCEE says, “Uhhh. No it’s not.”

You'll Be Able To Play As The Chimera In Uncharted 2 As Soon As Next Week.

Remember the awesome Uncharted 2: Among Thieves DLC we told you about yesterday? Sony’s confirmed it’s coming next week, alongside a demo if you’re yet (why not!?!) to play the game.

The DLC, entitled the “Playstation Heroes Skin Pack” brings Cole and Zeke from inFamous, Nathan Hale and the Chimera from Resistance and Sev and the Helghast from Killzone 2. It’ll cost £3.99/$4.99.

Well, if there was ever a way to get me back into Uncharted 2: Among Thieves’ multiplayer component, it’d involve character skins from other games.  Which is exactly what’s going to happen according to SCEJ, as upcoming DLC will feature inFamous, Resistance and Killzone 2 skins.

Siliconera’s got some shots of the DLC, which are due in Japan net week. They also note a map pack is due on February 25th, including an area from Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, with a further pack planned for April. Awesome.

Modern Warfare 2 Was The Playstation 3's Biggest Selling Game In '09. Surprise.

ELSPA’s confirmed that Modern Warfare 2 was the biggest selling game for the Playstation 3 in 2009. The news comes shortly after Modern Warfare 2 was announced as the biggest game of the year by ELSPA, raking in sales of £67million in just one week. The game’s now pulled in over $1billion.

Sitting next to Modern Warfare 2 in the Playstation 3’s overall 2009 sales charts was Fifa 10, Assassin’s Creed II, Killzone 2, and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Fifa 10 was a big winner on the PSP too, taking top spot ahead of its predecessor Fifa 09. Gran Turismo, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters and LittleBigPlanet closed out the chart.

It does nothing to drive the genre forward, and it’ll fail to surprise you like CoD4, but it’s still absolutely worth playing.”

#14: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on Playstation Portable.

We said: “Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is a delightful package of tuned gameplay and inspired mission design wrapped together in a bow of cynical, dry writing.”

We said: “Killzone 2 is an audio-visual tour-de-force which defines a saturated genre without ever adding anything new to the recipe.”

Killzone 2's Music Is So Intense It Causes Your Ears To Explode (Probably).

Finally we can live out our fantasy in which we pretend to have orange eyes and march around a dark, stormy environment listening to the sounds of Killzone 2. How? By downloading the soundtrack from iTunes.

The soundtrack was performed in the Abbey Road Studios, London (so you know it’s good) and features 74 minutes of epic, jaw-grindingly intense orchestral music.

We might pick this up actually. It’ll never better the unbelievable Linger In Shadows soundtrack, mind.

According to a report by GI.biz, Killzone 2’s stunning CG introduction has been recognised with a reward from the Roses Design Awards. It’s the first time games have ever competed alongside graphical, visual design and architecture categories, so massive kudos to the people at Guerrilla Games and Axis Animation for pulling this off.

The intro is so impressive, you owe it to yourselves to watch it again. We’ve embedded it above.
