Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters is a tactical strategy title set in Game's Workshop's grimdark universe, and for our money, it's right up there with Rogue Trader as one of the best games in the setting. Released on PC in 2022, PS5 and PS4 versions of Daemonhunters have been confirmed for a 20th February deployment.

Daemonhunters will scratch that very specific X-COM itch masochists get from time to time, swapping soldiers for Space Marines (the Grey Knights chapter, specifically) and relatively cute aliens for festering cultists of the Chaos God, Nurgle. It emphasizes close-quarters and melee combat, a refreshing twist and perfect for the setting.

As Force Commander, take command of the Baleful Edict and purge the Tartarus System of the corrupting Bloom, deploying squads of highly customizable, heavily outnumbered Space Marines and Terminators to burn it out root and branch. All the while, you must keep your ship in working order and upgrade it, along with its complement of daemon-busting warriors, in line with the ever-increasing difficulty curve.

What do you think of Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters? Can you believe how well fans of tactical turn-based combat have been eating on PlayStation lately? Along with the aforementioned Rogue Trader and Baldur's Gate 3, Persona 5 Tactica and Aliens: Dark Descent, it's been a feast, and Daemonhunters looks set to continue that trend.
