Fortnite Massively Cuts Prices of Criticised Rocket Racing PS5, PS4 Microtransactions 1

The outrageously overpriced microtransactions for Fortnite’s new arcade racing game Rocket Racing have dramatically dropped, following robust criticism from the game’s community. Epic Games originally intended to flog a single car for 4,000 V-Bucks, which would cost you around £27.99/$29.99, albeit with leftover in-game currency.

It’s since listened to the robust feedback, and adjusted accordingly. The Diesel car model, for example, will now cost you 2,500 V-Bucks, which is still pricey at around £17.49/$22.99 – but is obviously a lot more palatable. Meanwhile, the Jager and Cyclone car models will both drop to 1,500 V-Bucks apiece, so more in line with character skins.

Don’t worry if you already splashed out on any of these cars, as you’ll be refunded the difference within a week. Looking at the replies to the release’s communication, fans are much happier with these new prices, so it’s good that it’s course corrected so quickly. We reckon it probably needs to adjust the price of Fortnite Festival’s virtual instruments as well, but there’s no word on that right now.
