Did you know that there's a specific type of dynamic quest in Assassin's Creed Valhalla that the vast majority of players will probably never see? They're called 'Avenge' quests, and they're triggered when Eivor comes across the dead body of a fellow Viking out in the open world.
These bodies represent other Valhalla players who were killed in their own game by a nearby enemy. After inspecting the corpse, you're tasked with hunting down said enemy, and once they're dead, you get some minor rewards like xp and silver. Those of you who played Assassin's Creed Origins may recall that title featured these same online quests.
But again, the problem here is that these missions of vengeance are extremely rare in Valhalla, to the point where players have been questioning whether they've just been completely bugged since launch. And as it turns out, they are. The development team has once again updated its official list of known issues with the game, and "avenge quests are nowhere to be found" is now 'under investigation'.
With any luck, avenge quests will finally be working as intended in the near future, adding a bit more spice to Eivor's adventure. Dare we ask if you've ever come across the body of another player? Sate your thirst for vengeance in the comments section below.

I completed the game 100% today and got the platinum. What an amazing game.
Never ran across an avenge mission in my 200+ hours of Valhalla. Definitely the most boring, redundant and barren open world for an AC game.
I think I've finished the game, no end credits but no quests left. Feels a bit of an anticlimactic way to draw the game to its conclusion.
This is why Immortals sounds more appealing, a good open world game without the bloat.
I have run across one of these in the many weeks I've been playing. Definitely almost identical to Origins
75 hours in, never seen one.
I had one in my 95 hours or so gameplay, hurry up and fix the "pig of prophecy" quest so I can get get 100% completionist trophy, not to forget one automatic story related trophy has glitched to so that never unlocked so I will probably have to redo the story to get it.
Just as well you added that caveat there. I got jumped on for making a similar suggestion. Even if I had 200 hours spare why would I want to spend that time on one video game doing the same things again and again?
Never came across this but on a couple of the side quests, it wouldn't let me complete them. Just kept saying "You must be anonymous" even though I was.
@JapaneseSonic Even Ghost of Tsushima felt kinda bloated towards the end. Once you've done first third of the game, you've seen most of it.
Never seen one either in my one-bug-away-from-platinum playthrough
@NoFaceBigFoot
You still put in 200+ hours?
Apparently there's a Ragnar thing being triggered after you kill al 6 Drengrs, but it's broken and it never happens. They are looking into fixing it. But basically after you kill them you go to the snake pit in Northumbria and something should happen. Hope they fix that.
@PossibLeigh sorry man, didn't mean for you to take it like that.
😛
@sabaki08 that never happened to me either - guess the game was even more buggy than I thought
@LordSteev Hahaha! Ah, not you, mate. You're always quite respectful in your dissent! Try harder to be an ass!
@Voltan we'll just have to keep an eye on patch notes. They've been at it and fixing a lot of stuff. Positive this will be fixed in the next patch. Just keep in mind to revisit that place after the patches and see what you get.
250 Hours plus, cleared everything including minor chests. Found more glitches than anything else. Only found one of these in the whole game. There is a way around the pig and the singing woman.
After all these updates I still got a main quest bug that stops me from playing the game.
Can I add, that I thought the twists and turns of the end of the main storyline were amazing
@NoFaceBigFoot
I can kind or agree. While i didn't find it totally boring, the world was way too big and once you complete a region's story and collectibles, there's literally no reason to go back there. The world should have been 50% smaller imo and didn't need the 2 extra maps. I can't believe they will be adding a 4th map for the DLC, seems like a waste.
@Panic_Attache
If you saw a song in the longhouse and then wake up in your bed, that's the end lol
@Icey664 I agree. The map was way too large and focused too much on collectibles.
30+ hours in and never saw one, partner is 90 hours in and she hasn't either. We've both stopped playing with intention of coming back and the latest update sounds great (excited to no longer start every load as Drunk Eivor) but now I feel like waiting until the NEXT one would be an even better idea. Shame, really. But I'm enjoying the other games I've had a chance to catch up on.
@NoFaceBigFoot Then why did you play it for 200 hours? Idiot.
