Here's Your First Look at Mafia II: Definitive Edition on PS4

A direct comparison to the PS3 game

We know virtually everything there is to know about Mafia II: Definitive Edition, despite publisher 2K Games clinging to an embargo regarding the remaster. With the title launching a little earlier in Australia, footage of the crime-themed open worlder is already online, and one YouTube channel has produced a handy side-by-side, comparing the PlayStation 4 version to its older PlayStation 3 counterpart.

This is definitely a remaster rather than a remake, so don’t go expecting any mind-blowing changes. However, it’s clear that the title’s running at a much higher resolution on the PS4, with better lighting and particle effects. It looks pretty good, and it’s definitely a game that’s worth experiencing – we described it as “stunning” in our original Mafia II review. But are you planning to revisit Empire Bay? Having never played Mafia, but now curious about it, the trilogy looks to be an excellent value. 🙂

With Mafia 2 being a Definitive Edition it'll come with all the DLC, definitely getting Mafia 2 it's a really good game.

I still have it on my ps3 but haven't played it for a long time and I really want the remade first game but I still have 3 as well. So I think I will buy 2 then wait for the remake in August and leave it at that.
