Sony’s been conspicuously quiet when it comes to Days Gone’s overall sales, but everything we’ve observed is that the Bend developed undead open worlder was a bit of a secret smash hit. And that’s reflected by NPD’s report on the best-selling games of 2019, where Deacon St. John’s debut landed in 19th position.
The top few spots are exactly what you’d expect them to be: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, NBA 2K20, Madden NFL 20, Borderlands 3, and Mortal Kombat 11. But kudos must be given to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which made a late charge and ended in sixth position; ANTHEM, amazingly, also ended up in 15th position, despite the negative overall reaction to that release.
In the PlayStation specific charts, the order is much the same as the multiformat best-sellers list, but MLB The Show 19 did put in an appearance in ninth position – it’s now the best-selling baseball game of all-time. We’ve included all of the relevant information below.

Top 20, not bad for a non-Nintendo exclusive that wasn't that well-received at launch. I'm glad Bend Studio's love project sold at least p well, can't wait for a sequel.
@ArcadeHeroes It's no. 19
@RazielReaper Yup I was looking at the wrong sales chart , my bad XD
I need to get back on this at some point, I enjoyed what I played and got to some large camp down south where your friend has the operation. Now until the end of March is a good time for me to catch up
I really enjoyed Days Gone. There is nothing more satisfying than going all Solid Snake on an Ambusher Camp - or better yet, letting a Horde taking care of everyone.
The gameplay loop never bored me - so much so, the game gave me my 2nd Platinum Trophy behind Final Fantasy XV.
Just started it and I quite like it. Prob about 9 or 10 hours in. I take DG over any call of duty or shoddy EA game any day of the week.
I enjoyed my time with Days Gone. I took a break to start Persona 5 and accidentally put in over 100 hours on that game, but got distracted by Death Stranding. I really need to finish up some of these games...I’m still only halfway through God of War too.
When you factor in that Sony gets all the biggest 3rd party games with exclusive features...having a 1st party exclusive make the top 20 is impressive. People will argue Nintendo has 6 games on the top 20 but Nintendo also does not get big 3rd party releases or gets severely watered down versions...or they dont make it to that system til years down the road. Not taking away from the success but you buy Nintendo to play Nintendo. Anything else is icing
Hav'nt played this. I did watch my mate completing it. Seems like a good game. It had quite a few bugs at the time, but I’m sure there prob ironed out now. Nice to see a new ip from Bend doing well. I would really like a new Syphon Filter, all new & made from the ground up on PS5. Man, that would be amazing.
isn't this the same game that people said that it had a bad launch!?!
now it's the best selling game!!!
where are the Xbots now LMAO!
I only started playing it a few weeks back and so far I really like it.
It's actually weird though, I play a lot of open world games and usually you're free to explore and go pretty much where you like but this game is a bit different at least early one. Have to worry about your fuel, the state of your ammo and even what time of day. It's actually quite refreshing.
It feels like a mix between RDR2 and HZD but with zombies, sorry, freakers!
The weather system is really effective as well, when it rains hard it really does rain hard and just adds to the overall atmosphere.
Sure the lead character might not be the most charismatic but I enjoy his little rants after listen to Copeland's radio broadcasts and it's kind of fun just trying to survive and plan your routes.
If you haven't played it yet and enjoy open world games then I'd say give it a try.
I thoroughly enjoyed days gone slow start at first wasnt to sure so didnt play it much but then got into it and playing over 84 hours to get the platinum, well worth the whole time I played.
I was SUPER excited fir the game but then it got pretty questionable reviews that made it sound broken and very bland and boring anyway which really turned me off of grabbing it.
Wasnt until a real good discount that i got it. Turns out its one of the best games ever. Glad it did well, cant wait for a sequel.
I'm always shocked at how well Nintendo titles do. They have a very dedicated user base.
I loved every minute of Days Gone even though there were some glitches it was still fun I just beat this game the other day hordes are something new and interesting in this type of game they will give anxiety fits 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Happy to see Division 2 up there. Gives me hope for a 3rd installment.
