Keanu Reeves isn't going to just pop up once or twice as a cameo character in Cyberpunk 2077 -- he's actually an integral part of the story. Based on what we know so far, Reeves plays Johnny Silverhand, a character who originated in the Cyberpunk tabletop role-playing game. By the year 2077, when CD Projekt Red's title takes place, Johnny's long dead, but clearly not forgotten.
When he was alive, Johnny Silverhand was a bit of an anarchist, and he was essentially labelled a terrorist by the corporations that run Night City. Somehow, his consciousness -- described as a "digital ghost" -- survived his death, and now, thanks to a chip that gets put inside your character's head, you can see him and talk with him.
We don't know the finer details just yet, but the gist of it is that Keanu Reeves plays the role of a destructive cyber ghost in Cyberpunk 2077, and if that doesn't sound cool, then we don't know what does. Apparently, Johnny shows up a few times in the new gameplay demo that's being shown at E3 2019. He comments on events as they happen, and even gets snarky when you customise your character's appearance. "C'mon, you really think they give a rat's **** about how you look?" is the quote that's being passed around the web.
Going back to Johnny not just being a character who shows up once or twice, in an interview with Bloomberg, CD Projekt Red co-CEO Marcin Iwinski says that Johnny actually has the second most amount of lines in the entire game, topped only by V, the main character. So yeah, he's no flash in the pan.

I'm booking a week off when this comes out and I'm hoping I'll have finished Final Fantasy VII by then, its going to be an awesome 2020
@carlos82 I know it’ll be a good game but I’m wondering if I can hold off on it. They were patching Witcher 3 for a year or more, and the technical issues in it honestly spoilt the game for me a bit. Then you start thinking about a potential PS5 version... 🤔
@kyleforrester87 I have had similar thoughts and I was surprised how well The Witcher 3 runs these days when I recently returned and I had to learn what all these new menu's were for. I just know how impatient I am but I would love to see a PS5 version of this at 60fps and possibly ray tracing. Definitely something to ponder and I'll have FFVII to keep me going for a while and that Watchdogs Legion looks interesting too
I can't wait to see this gameplay vid in a few months. After that I'm going on a Cyberpunk 2077 blackout.
Not really a fan Keanu but I trust CDPR to do a good job.
