There’s no question that Days Gone’s trailers have been getting better the closer we get to launch, and this latest one may be the apocalyptic open worlder’s best yet. There’s nothing you haven’t seen before here: protagonist Deacon St. John still has his baseball cap, and everyone seems terribly distressed about the fact that there are bleedin’ Freakers everywhere they turn.
But heck, if you’re looking forward to next month’s release then there are some new scenes in here that should get you in the mood, as well as an introduction to a handful of new characters. It’s moody and formulaic, but it’s an effective trailer nonetheless – just what the title needs a few weeks away from its launch date.

such an underated game.
i stay by the fact that this game will be way better than people are letting on. nice trailer too, love that soundtrack. (which seems to be a thing in almost all PS exclusives this gen)
Just when I thought the wedding trailer was the best one, this one over takes it. The story looks like its going to be amazing, I'm sorry but if yall can't see how great this game is going to be then I don't know what to say, can't wait to play this.
Been interested in this since it's very first announcement. This will be another awesome PS4 exclusive.
@Cordeceps This game could easily go bad. Can't judge it on story alone. It could be great. But it could also be a boring repetitive slog that gets old quickly. We don't know yet. I've been let down enough times to be cautious about any new game coming out. Definitely waiting for in-depth reviews to share how the gameplay really is.
@Gumbopudding I'm not judging it on story alone though, I'm talking about the whole package, everything combined. With everything shown, if you are still on the fence then so be it, they have shown more than enough game play, story, the world etc for people to decide.
Been following from the start, already pre-ordered, I don't need other peoples reviews to tell me that this game will be great.
Spot on cordy.
@Cordeceps Well im just more jaded then you are. I've seen enough good concepts turn meh. But I don't look at reviews to tell me if it's good or bad. I don't care if the reviews even likes it. I like good deep reviews that explain in detail how games play to see if it fits my opinion of what makes a game fun, not if they thought it was.
I've been following this game since the first reveal and it has potential to be great or not be what I like. What made Last of Us great in my opinion is that it was linear. This open world could be amazing. Or it could be repetitive grind to fill up time. For example in LoU you constantly had to search weapons and crafting material. It worked because the linear design forced you forward. In DGs open world you have a lot of gathering but also camp storage and quick travel points. That means you will be going back and forth a lot. It could be repetitive cleaning out tons of freaked nests to get enough gear to move on.
Im just saying I don't know enough to know if it will be fun for me. I never preorder ever any more. If it's good, I get it a few days later, no big deal. If it's bad I saved money.
It'll be good. Can't remember playing a bad Sony game.
