Best PS4 Co-Op Coop Co-Operative PlayStation 4 Games 1

What are the best co-op games on PS4? Which coop games should you play with your friends? If you’re reading this article then we’re guessing that one of your preferred pastimes is playing the PlayStation 4 with pals. Playing together in couch co-op or online can be one of the most rewarding ways to play. But what are the top cooperative titles on the console? We’ve compiled a list of our favourites, including couch coop and online coop, that no collaborative session would be complete without.

20. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4)

Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment / Developer: Naughty Dog
Release Date: 10th May 2016 (USA) / 10th May 2016 (UK/EU)

Also available as part of ‘Chlodine’ spin-off story The Lost Legacy, coop mode Survival is just one small part of the overall Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End puzzle. But it’s an enjoyable one, taking the series’ signature manoeuvrability and shoe-horning it into 50 waves of intense three-player, third-person action. There are enough twists on the traditional Horde format to make this feature stand out, and thus it's deserving of its place on our list.

19. N++ (PS4)

Publisher: Metanet Software / Developer: Metanet Software
Release Date: 28th Jul 2015 (USA) / 28th Jul 2015 (UK/EU)

If you ever do reach the end of this game’s ridiculous amount of single player content, there’s a lengthy couch co-op mode to try your hand at too. This tricky platformer’s bespoke co-operative levels force you to work together to reach the goal, with switches only accessible to one player, or the need for self sacrifice to allow the other to run to the end. It’s difficult, and it could end longstanding friendships, but instant restarts and the satisfaction of success will keep you glued to the screen.

18. Grand Theft Auto V (PS4)

Publisher: Rockstar / Developer: Rockstar North
Release Date: 18th Nov 2014 (USA) / 18th Nov 2014 (UK/EU)

Grand Theft Auto V’s three-pronged campaign already feels like it should be a perfect fit for coop, but it’s with GTA Online’s Heist missions that developer Rockstar North has at last realised the juggernaut series’ collaborative potential. With each player assuming a different cog in an increasingly complicated criminal crusade, this is some of the most compelling co-op you’ll find on the PS4.

Publisher: Ubisoft / Developer: Ubisoft Montpellier
Release Date: 18th Feb 2014 (USA) / 21st Feb 2014 (UK/EU)

Rayman’s most recent adventure is excellent when playing solo, but introducing more players to the mix turns the fun factor up to 11. You can either work together to find collectibles and make navigation easier, or you can drive your buddies mad with some needless slaps to the face. However you decide to play, this quality cartoon platformer will entertain you and your friends for hours.

16. Tom Clancy's The Division (PS4)

Publisher: Ubisoft / Developer: Massive Entertainment
Release Date: 8th Mar 2016 (USA) / 8th Mar 2016 (UK/EU)

Designed to rival the dominance of loot shooters like Destiny, it could be argued that Tom Clancy’s The Division was held back by its grounded, modern military setting. But while unlocking stat-boosting khaki combat trousers will never quite be as exciting as an elaborate new piece of armour, Ubisoft’s commitment to updating this title – as well as some sturdy shooter foundations – means that you could do worse than sending your squad onto the freezing streets of New York City.
