I'm surprised that aren't any turtle beach headsets on here.
Hyper X Cloud Flight sound amazing in games and even for music. They may not have as many features as some wireless sets but excel where it matters most to me - sound, comfort, wireless range, battery life, and microphone quality. I have tried Astro A50, Steelseries Siberia 800, and Lucidsound LS 40 and the stereo on the Cloud Flights sound better with more directionality than the surround on those more expensive sets.
@Jaz007 I bought the Turtle Beach Stealth 800 (the rival to Astro's) for my PS4 but I didn't get on with them - the sound would sometimes cut out briefly. I had the Turtle Beach XO7's for my Xbox One - wired and tried those by plugging them directly into the DS4 and they work perfectly and sound really good too.
I never liked the Sony headset - I think it looks incredibly cheap and tacky (each to their own) and a lot of friends said the sound doesn't have much bass. Considering it was around the same price as my XO7's, I will keep with the TB's. Audio and Mic work really well with decent Bass too. I guess the 'downside' for some will be the 'green' Xbox trim...
No mention of the Platinum Wireless headset? I think they can be picked up for a little more than the Gold's nowadays and have the added feature of simulated 3D audio for supported games and longer battery life.
I couldn't stand to use any of those as I hate anything that clunky on my head. I'd want something that clips over one ear. Actually, I'd like to be able to use my PS3 Bluetooth set on PS4. Until such time as I can find one, I'll make do with the one which came with the PS4.
Been using the gold headset for years and love it. I'm not an audiophile at all so no way I'm spending over $100 on a headset. The original gold headset lasted me a good 3 years, just picked up the updated model a couple months ago. Sounds great, easy to use and at a great price!
I'm still rocking the Pulse Elite Edition headset. The sound is still great but they're starting to fall apart. It's ok though 'cause I bought an extra pair so I'll bust them out as soon as my current ones finally die. I was going to buy the newer models but they don't look or sound as good imo.
Got the Sony Platinum cans. Really comfortable as they fit my small head. Sounds is good too and the Mic is decent for multiplayer. Can't stand any wired ones these days, much prefer wireless.
Ive had my eye on the razer thresher 7.1but also considering the cheaper route of the sony golds.
Whats the best bang for buck when it comes to wireless and good 3d/surround sound when all the different options are considered???
I use the Sony MDR1ABs and a dedicated microphone connected to an external sound-card. They work great together, and the quality is top notch.
The older model PS4 Gold Headset that I've had for a couple years has unfortunately lost its wireless capability, the battery only lasts about a half hour now. Still, a very nice headset, nothing a 10 foot USB cord can't fix.
I have those steelseries for my PC, they are very, very good! Highly recommended.
I've had the Turtle Beach Elite 520 for around a year now and they have been great
I have the Corsair HS60 which is the upgrade to the HS50's and also has 7.1 surround sound. They were actually cheaper than the HS50's at Best buy a couple of weeks ago. I got them for 39.99 down from 79.99. They're a great budget headset.

Still have the Pulse headset. Don't use it often, but it's a good set of you can find one new.
They were prone to cracking over time I think, but I've had mine years and it's still sound.
I've been using the turtle beach x12 for around 8 years.
only changed the padding once a couple of years ago.
Great sound, very detailed and can go very low bass wise, also very loud if needed.
Also bought the px22, but although they are very feature rich,
they do not sound as good, lacking bass.
Got rid of them and got another x12, the yare still brand new, waiting to replace the ones i use now, but they refuse to die.
I am using the turtle beach px 24. its actually quite good for the price
i must say I am loving it. Currently saving for a Razer Thresher 7.1
