The PlayStation 4’s excellent Spotify app has received a bit of a spring clean today, upgrading its user interface ever so slightly. While the changes are admittedly minimal, we’ve just had a browse around and it’s a definite improvement over the previous build.
Your app should update automatically if your PS4’s in Rest Mode and you use it regularly, but it’s only a teensy download if not, so make sure you take the time to get it installed if you plan to use Spotify in the near future, as it is mandatory.

The app before was a bit of a pain to navigate from what I remember so hopefully this is a bit better at least. I usually just use my phone to control it anyway since it's easier to control it that way.
looks a lot better, but yea always just control on mobile or laptop
Unfortunately spotify is not available in my country...
I use this app a lot. Probably more than any game. So, Im just happy they're still supporting it!
Im going to have to wait until I get home, but it already looks like an improvement.
I wonder if they've added the basic functionality of logging out? My old Spotify account was made using my Facebook account, but when I deleted my FB page, my Spotify account remained on PlayStation. I can't log out and sign in with my new Spotify account. It's very annoying.
Like others have mentioned i tend to use either my phone or tablet to navigate Spotify. Will have a nosy later but if the changes are minimal i can't see that changing.
Spotify only became recent like 3 days ago in my country
UI is much better! It is much more user friendly and just better looking in general.
You can now use your Spotify app to turn on the PlayStation and launch the app.
On the now playing screen, there's some onscreen lag because of cover art loading between songs. Thankfully the audio is still fine.
Scrolling is slower now, which is unfortunate. Luckily more search results can be shown on screen, so that mitigates this.
I don't use it because I hate all the Facebook tie-ins , can I now use it without being a Facebook member ?
I hate Facebook in case you haven't gathered !
