Post-apocalyptic open world undead-‘em-up Days Gone will ride to the PlayStation 4 in 2018, Worldwide Studios chief Shuhei Yoshida told Greg Miller as part of a PSX 2017 panel. The title was previously undated, but Sony’s been pretty weird with release windows in the last couple of years, refusing to commit to anything until the very last minute.
Sony Bend’s motorcycle-themed zombiethon was last showed off at E3 2017, where the developer demonstrated how you’ll be able to adapt your approach to any given mission depending on the circumstances and the weather conditions. The gameplay opportunities seem cool, but the studio’s biggest challenge right now is making the title stand out in a market that’s tired of undead open world games.

This game DESPERATELY needs to latch on to the Battle Royale craze. It is embarrassingly unappealing atm
YES!
it needs something to make it non generic. weather making an actual change is not enough for me sorry, looks like a wait for sale right now
It looks cool enough guys! Everything is generic if you squint hard enough...except Death Stranding lol
@PhenomenalOne lolwut? No thanks, single-player games for the win.
I know there is a lot of buzz for this game, but yes, I am a little put off by yet another zombie game. I hate to be a Debbie-downer also about one of Sony’s most anticipated games coming out but I need to see something innovative.
@PhenomenalOne wrong.
I happen to think the game looks excellent and ive been playing games since nes. Im sure your expert opinions have been considered by their execs tho.
It seems innovative enough to get Mr interested, just for the horde aspect. I liked that in the trailer.
@Mikethemosher It's really impressive the gameplay of Days Gone, never saw a horde of zombies like that.
But hey, people complain about everything nowadays.
Let's create a moba instead!
I think this may most hyped game of next year imo. I'm really up for Red Dead 2 of course, Detroit looks right up my alley, but there's something about this that just looks and feels awesome. I really hope it all holds up but I'm glad they're taking their time with it and seem to really care that it delivers fully when it's finally ready.
@PS_Nation where did I imply they'd discard the single player portion of the game?
My most anticipated Sony Exclusive at the moment. The dynamic world sets it apart from virtually all over games - that and the open world, the RPG elements and sheer volume and speed of the horde. Yes Dead Rising have LOTS of Zombies too but not that swarm like this. The fact you can also use the Horde to your advantage, as a weapon is another thing that separates from others too. The closest game I have seen is the very recently announced World War Z. Its not a 'linear' game like Last of Us with a few pockets of small groups of 'infected'.
can't wait playa.this game will be legendary word up son
I'll never get tired of undead open world games. Can't wait to play this day zer0!!!
Hype and delayed release folowed by hype and delayed release. I wish all games were released like Fallout 4 was. Announce, show trailers, and then release 5 months later.
Big zombie game fan here so yes i am interested, and i hope it is not delayed past 2018
@PhenomenalOne How will you put in a Battle royale mode then. Yeah man crazes make games a lot better the same boring stuff over and over that makes a game standout......
