Grand Theft Auto V PS4

The holiday rush is upon us, but still Rockstar is keeping Grand Theft Auto V’s next-gen port locked up tighter than Trevor should be. Despite insistence from parent company Take-Two that the re-release will still deploy this year, we’ve started to have our doubts. Fortunately, a report from a recent GameStop managers meeting in Anaheim suggests that all is well behind closed doors.

In fact, it sounds like the release is shaping up pretty nicely indeed. We haven’t been able to confirm the source, so take all of this with a dash of caution, but according to one seemingly believable NeoGAF member that was in attendance at the event, the remaster is the “real deal”. He wrote: “The changes are astounding – really incredible stuff.” Hnngh.

So, what’s new? Well, apparently the foliage has been completely reworked, as has the native wildlife. This was evident in the title’s first trailer, where we saw small animals grazing in thick bushy grass. The draw distance has been boosted, too, with any lights that you see at night running in real-time. Oh, and water has also been improved, with rain being an apparent highlight.

Interestingly, there’s also the promise of new content, including radio station segments and songs. We know that Non-Stop Pop host Cara Delevingne was recently in the studio to record some new bits and bobs, so this isn’t hard to believe. Of course, given the nature of the source, we still recommend approaching this information with caution. It’s hard not to be a little excited, though, huh?
