The New PlayStation 3 Browser Homepage Looks Cool... Well, Apparently. We Haven't Actually Seen It Ourselves.

Seeing as like only three games actually support the full 1080p resolution (and you know, the difference isn't all that noticeable on average TVs), we assumed there were millions of users worldwide playing their games in 720p.

According to Sony's statistics though, only 2% of people using the PlayStation 3's browser are doing so in 720p. Which sounds bizarre to us, but whatever. Why does it matter? Well, because SCEE's just launched a really spiffy new landing page for the PlayStation 3's browser. It's more attractive, niftier to navigate and will be getting a stonking update in the new year to factor in content from the PlayStation Blog. In short, it's rather cool.

The problem therefore is that it doesn't work on 720p televisions (we've tried). Honestly, bit weird that. It makes sense for the new page not to load on standard definition televisions, but... Yeah.

So as much as we'd love to get excited about this, we can't because we haven't actually used it yet. Sure, we could jump in and switch our TV's resolution to 1080p, but honestly, it makes things look worse.

In other news: only 1.26% of PushSquare users have an 800 x 600 screen resolution. The site still scales perfectly though. Just saying.
