What is probably the worst kept secret in video game history, Ars Technica conclude the new PSP will have no UMD slot, longer battery life and will probably be much cheaper. They do suggest however that the system will likely join its UMD-bearing brethren rather than entirely replacing the older system. At least initially.
As for the Playstation 3 Slim, Ars Technica's "mole" confirms its existence, but is sceptical of an E3 announcement. The suggestion is that Sony will let their current stock of systems "run-down" before releasing the new - possibly cheaper system - some time in September.
Only a week to go until we find out for sure.
