We appreciate why people enjoy the hardcore stick-flicking of EA's franchise, but we grew up with the Tony Hawk games, where you mash lots of buttons and watch your score multiply. Sadly, the Tony Hawk franchise is dead-dead-dead now. But we still do crave a bit of arcade skateboarding.

Thank goodness for Shaun White Skateboarding then, which is looking like a mix between an art-house experiment and the classic Tony Hawk games. Quite good then. The hook is that you perform tricks in a bland environment to bring colour back into the world. There's probably a metaphor in there somewhere.

But seriously though, it just looks fun. We need to get grips on how it handles before we scream its praises, but the early signs look promising. In fact, we're quite excited.
