Excellent article Christropher, a genuine well researched read.... top marks. I grew up with the Gaiden series on the NES, and loved the "reboot" on the Xbox. I've devouted countless hours to each incarnation of the series, even re-buying and playing the Sigma series on the PS3 and Vita. But a 10 minute play on the trial/demo of Gaiden 3 instantly told me Tecmo had lost the gameplay principles the series was famed for............. shame.
I never thought that I would'nt buy a new Ninja Gaiden title. But alas this game has recieved just to many negative reviews for me to bother with it. Maybe just maybe in a years time when its priced at a tenner I may pick it up...... if i'm short of other titles to play that is.
yeah did this game have a smaller production run than other titles, I found it quite difficult to find on the highstreet. Anyway great review and a deserved 8/10 for this classic, and in my opinion still unmatched to this day "slash-em up". Ninja Gaiden Black devoured so much of my days back in 2005. Its a crying shame Itagaki has left Team Ninja/Tecmo, as Gaiden 3 is a real spineless shadow of the earlier titles.
IMO this is by far the best value release game on offer. Very compelling gameplay and cute visuals. With this, Ninja Gaiden, Disgaea and some of the PSN titles, I should be more than occupied untill some of the big hitters come along later this year. Love the website by the way.
