I agree for the most part, they needlessly changed up the interface and there's not a whole lot added that I really care about.
However, more importantly, I find that I can no longer get a picture on my TV without changing the input. In other words, both my TV and PS4 are off, or the PS4 is in standby, and I push the PS button. The PS4 turns on, and turns my TV on, but the picture stays black. I have to switch to another input and then back to the PS4 to get a picture.
It's worth noting that my Roku 3 does exactly the same thing after I turn my TV off. The Roku doesn't turn the TV on like the PS4 does, but it stays on all the time, so if I turn the TV off, and then turn the TV back on, when I go to watch HDCP-protected content I get no video. Roku doesn't seem to be able to isolate the problem even though it's extremely repeatable for me and I know exactly how to correct it (I can either pull the HDMI out and push it back in, restart the Roku, or change inputs on the TV to get it to work properly), but it seems to be an issue with how the devices handle the HDCP handshake. The aggravating thing is that the PS4 never had this problem before the update (and I really hate it on the Roku).
It's extra annoying since the PS4 can turn the TV on. It's so convenient, but then this bug destroys that convenience. I might as well just turn the TV on manually.
There was a similar bug when I originally got the PS4, but it didn't happen as often. This is downright annoying.
