People are clearly missing the reasoning behind this. You don't get a free upgrade from the PS4 version as it is priced differently. We all know Sony have a new pricing structure when it comes to first party games for the newer generation. If they offered a free upgrade everybody would simply purchase the PS4 version and proceed to get a PS5 upgrade for free. From the POV of Sony that makes no sense! There should be an option to upgrade at a price for those that currently do not have a PS5 to prevent them from having to purchase the game at full price again in the future. The entitlement that people exhibit these days is mind boggling. There is just no pleasing some people.
Additionally from reading the old PS blog post, Sony aren't going back on their word as this is not a launch game, any arguments that this is not fair are irrelevant.
I'm not happy about the price of first party PS5 games however we have got to think that the pricing of games has remained fairly consistent for the last 20 years, an increase was long overdue.
I'm not personally interested in a collector's edition but I can see why that would frustrate people.
