I liked it. The Ai Somnium sequel finally getting a release date, Dragon Quest VII, and more Dynasty Warriors made me happy. That having been said, I winced when I heard the stream say something about "one of Square-Enix's most beloved franchises" and then follow that up with Octopath Traveler 0.
One second of stunned silence. Then the dislike ratio shot up immensely. I personally have nothing against the Octopath series. But my heart also went out to anyone looking for news of VII Remake Part 3 or Kingdom Hearts 4 or the next mainline Final Fantasy.
@Korgon I think Player First's days are numbered. Warner Bros. bought them out entirely in hopes that their up-and-coming live service game would be a perpetual money generator. Instead, it was a failure. Similar situation with Sony and Firewalk Studios with Concord; Firewalk barely lasted past two months after Concord's demise.
In the best-case scenario, Warner Bros. retains the developers and puts them to work on shoring up their more profitable ventures. It's more likely that they just freeze out the studio and lay off the dev team en masse.
