Conclusion

Designed entirely out of hand-drawn graphics, this top-down billiards title looks sharp, bright and attractive on both the PSP and PS3. Providing three variations on classic pool rules, Doodle Pool lets you engage in nine-ball and eight-ball pool against a slew of increasingly difficult AI opponents. The gameplay is solid and arcadey, though the ball physics can be a bit unpredictable, occasionally reacting in unexpected ways. If you're a fan of billiards, this can be an enjoyable diversion in short bursts, with the introduction of time-trials and blind-folded modes helping to keep the distraction feeling fresh. Some more variety in the game's content would have been welcome, but what's on offer here is an attractive billiards-flavoured time-waster.
