Our Favourite Shark-PG Returns! Maneater 2 Comes to PS5 in 2027 1

In perhaps the biggest surprise of the latest State of Play, Tripwire Interactive has announced Maneater 2, a sequel to its beloved shark action game.

In all honesty, it looks like more of the same daft action I remember from the original. You play as the sea's apex predator, chowing down on other creatures to gain strength and grow larger — and more dangerous.

The setup is quite fun; your task is to escape Neptune's Kingdom, a luxury seaside theme park that's rife with opportunities to cause havoc and feast on those pathetic humans.

It looks very silly and I'm totally here for it.

The trailer for this one was pretty entertaining. Could be camp fun if it’s representative of the actual game.

Actually, this reminds me. When I played the original Maneater on PS5 one of the trophies glitched and robbed me of the platinum. Heartbreak.

First game is a ton of fun so i'm excited for this.

I tried to play the first one but once I reached the second area I ran into a loop of crashes. I tested it on both the base model and the Pro, same thing. I looked into it and some people had crashes, others didn't, no one knew why. I don't like to call a game broken because someone did work on it, but that game was so broken when I tried it. Hopefully Two is better, from what I did see it was a fun game, it felt Retro and unserious, those kinds of games have a place in modern gaming too. Perhaps I'll try a reinstall eventually, maybe it's been patched since then, it was a while back.
