Publisher Capcom has unveiled a new look at Mega Man: Dual Override, the next entry in the long-running action platformer series.
Coming to both PS5 and PS4 in 2027, the game is looking promising in this first proper look at the action:
While the trailer doesn't explicitly say so, one of Dual Override's main features is the ability to equip Mega Man with Custom Chips, which you can swap in and out to enhance his abilities.

There's also a new Override system, which is basically like an ultimate ability that's super powerful but temporarily leaves Mega Man in a weakened state afterward.
We also see our first Robot Master, Twinkle Girl, who attacks with screen-filling fireworks.
Finally, the trailer reveals that Proto Man will be a second playable character, with different basic gameplay than Mega Man.
It's looking good, and the art style looks super clean. Hopefully it plays as smooth as it looks when it launches next year.

We're also not acknowledging the website hinting at some of the Robot Masters not being "New", and the trailer did show Astro Man, wholesale from 8, background design and all.
And Mega Man having more X like abilities while having drawbacks, and striking his original title screen pose after a victory is just icing on the cake. Edging ever closer to the Zero game in terms of story. First Roboenza preceding the Zero Virus, then Double Gear preceding abilities X has like charged special weapons....now this.
Straight into my veins please.
Also if you couldn't tell by the unusually verbose post gushing about a game for once...yes....these are the kinds of games I like. This tickles the tism.
Looks pretty similar with MM 11 but with a couple of changes here and there and i'm okay with that since i really enjoyed MM 11.
With them having shown Twinkle Woman, I'm suddenly a lot less hopeful Sweeper Woman will win the design contest. Sadly I don't think they'll have more than 1 female robot master.
@Haruki_NLI Wouldn’t it be crazy if this game breaks the 8 robot master mold and we get, say… 16 robot masters, 8 old and 8 new as a “dual” type of thing. I’m being hopeful this is the Capcom pushing the Megaman series in an interesting way. I want to believe.
