PS5 Is Finally Getting Its Own Beyblade Game 1

Readers are free to correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think there’s been a Beyblade game on PlayStation since the PSP.

Tomy’s spinning top toy has always been an enigma to me; I’ve never actually engaged with it personally, but I remember seeing them in stores as a kid and always wanting one.

A couple of years ago I walked past a contest taking place at a convention in Taipei, and I had to peel myself away from it as a crowd of people gathered around the competing discs.

For those who don’t know, these toys have spawned a huge multimedia range, spanning anime, manga, comics, and more. It’s crazy popular.

And the latest game from FuRyu, Beyblade X: Evobattle, is now confirmed for the PS5. It launched last year on PC and Switch, but is finally getting a PlayStation port.

While there’s no release date attached, this title features online multiplayer, an evolution system that lets you build a one-of-a-kind Beyblade, and even a single player story featuring characters from the cast of the Beyblade X anime.

Reviews on Steam are actually fairly positive, so this may be worth a look if you have a passing interest in Beyblade like me. I always thought those Game Boy Color games looked fun as well – I must try those out one day.
