Monster Hunter Wilds' all-important expansion has finally been revealed. It's called Ascendance, and it's launching next year.
As the name implies, the "massive" DLC will be taking your hunter to the skies, as you battle across what appears to be a realm of floating islands. Ambitious stuff.
There'll also be new gameplay mechanics, as you can see in the above trailer. It's difficult to call exactly what's going on, but we glimpse examples of fresh combat equipment, like an exhaust gauntlet that seems to empower your attacks.

We'll no doubt be seeing much more of Ascendance over the coming weeks and months. Capcom loves showing this stuff off in big gameplay deep dives.

Still no brand new weapon types 😭
Immediately thought of DMC Nero's Red Queen mechanics with the gauntlet.
Immediately loved it.
Looks from the couple of glimpses like it functions to expand each weapon's moveset in line with their strengths, showing an alternate charge slash combo for Greatsword, even more mobile shooting for Light Bowgun, and another perfect guard counter option for Gunlance which looked like it could combo straight into a Wyrmstake judging from the stance. I imagine there'll be more to it than that, but looks like we're in for some fun new tricks.
I'm so hyped for this. Big potential for a comeback and now I gotta catch up soon i lagged behind
