Star Trek Fans, Buy This PS5, PS4 Game Before It's Delisted Now 1

If you’re a Star Trek fan and you have even a passing interest in the Telltale-inspired Star Trek: Resurgence, we’d recommend you drop everything and buy the game for your PS5 or PS4 right now. You can do so through here.

Despite only releasing in 2023, the narrative-driven adventure has just been axed from Steam, mere hours after publisher Bruner House notified players its distribution license was ending.

In a statement, the organisation said:

“Our license to distribute Star Trek: Resurgence has come to an end, so the game will no longer be offered for sale. Existing customers can continue to access the game via their Steam library. Thanks to everyone who was able to enjoy the game! Live long and prosper!”

While there isn’t any confirmation of this also applying to other platforms, we’d assume the distribution license would extend to the PS5 and PS4 versions, meaning it’ll likely be removed from the PS Store imminently.

At the time of writing it’s still available for $24.99/£19.99, so we’d strongly suggest you purchase it now if you want to play it. It’ll remain in your library.

Star Trek: Resurgence was made by Dramatic Labs, a studio made up of ex-Telltale devs. As such, this strikes a similar chord to classics like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us.

While its reviews were never overwhelmingly positive, it did grab a 71 average on Metacritic, which is respectable enough if you’re a fan of the source material.

We wish publishers would communicate any impending issues like this much sooner. While we appreciate delistings occur in this digital age, giving players a heads-up is in the best interests of everyone.
