Persona 1 Persona 2 Leak Rumour

Oh no, Atlus is doing that thing again where it gets everyone's hopes up with weirdly vague naming conventions!

As you probably already know, 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of Persona as a series, with developer Atlus having already teased a number of "updates" that'll be shared throughout the year.

The new hope is that one such update will feature the original Persona and Persona 2 — or more specifically, the re-release or remastering of those two games.

Basically, there's an official Persona 30th Anniversary clothing range now available on Amazon — and multiple products are based on the first two Persona titles.

Anything to do with the original Persona is called 'Persona 1 Origins', while anything related to Persona 2 is named 'Persona 2 Duality'. Suspicions are on the rise because Atlus has never used either of these subtitles in the past.

So, the reasoning here is that Persona 1 Origins and Persona 2 Duality are the leaked names of yet-to-be-announced re-releases, remasters, or even remakes.

We can certainly see the logic — especially since every item of clothing is listed under these names — but let's not jump the gun. It could just be that these are the names of each specific product range (as weird as that might appear, but this is Atlus we're talking about).

Obviously, it's been a long time since the developer did anything with the original Persona and Persona 2; the titles have effectively been left to rot in favour of their much more popular successors.

With that in mind, bringing them back would make for an interesting proposition. The Persona formula that most people are familiar with began with Persona 3, and so its predecessors can almost feel like completely different kinds of RPGs.

Still, Atlus has shown clear interest in reviving its older games. Last year, for example, saw the release of Raidou Remastered, and the company's said that it intends to revive more of its back catalogue under SEGA's guidance.

What do you make of this, then? Is this an actual leak of some kind, or are fans reading too much into Atlus' strange product names? Bear an original sin in the comments section below.
