PowerWash, House Flipper Fans May Want to Pay Attention to This Intriguing Handyman Sim on PS5 1

If you're into busywork sims such as PowerWash Simulator or House Flipper, publisher tinyBuild is bringing what looks like a very promising new game to PS5 that's worthy of your attention.

It's called The Lift, and it casts you as a handyman tasked with fixing up a giant facility plagued by supernatural oddities.

Developed by Fantastic Signals over the last four years, the game combines elements of the aforementioned simulation titles with the storytelling and depth of immersive sims like PREY.

That's according to the PS Blog post, where a little more is revealed about the game and its intriguing setting.

Your job is to repair the ruined Institute, which has suffered some sort of supernatural disaster. As you can see in the above gameplay trailer, that involves a variety of tasks, including cleaning up mysterious goo, fixing electrical devices, realigning satellites, and lots more.

You access the various levels of the Institute via the titular lift, which will also serve as your base of operations throughout the adventure.

The game almost sounds a bit Metroidvania-like; as you explore every part of the facility and fix up its various problems, you'll meet a cast of characters and unlock new tools that will then allow you to delve further and repair even more stuff.

It all looks quite tactile and satisfying in a similar way to the likes of PowerWash, but there's also a deeper narrative element present here that has us curious to discover what happened to the Institute to put it in such disarray.

We're definitely interested, then — unfortunately it's not coming until 2027, but hopefully it'll be worth the wait.
