Pickmos

PocketGame has returned to social media a couple of weeks after going dark, following the reveal of its clear Pokémon and Palworld rip-off game Pickmon. What's different this time, though, is the clone carries a new name: Pickmos.

Yes, that is indeed a single letter change: Pickmon has become Pickmos.

According to the returning social media profile, though, this update now "better aligns" the game's name with the team's "brand identity and lore". It explains that the "mos" phrasing will represent "a grand ecosystem" and "a great cosmos". It then continues: "This name carries a more powerful presence, acting as a better vessel for the fantasy adventure we are building for you."

Following the explanation, the studio remains under heavy fire from Pokémon fans picking up on the obvious copycat monster designs, such as the Charizard knock-off in the statement image above. It's not known yet whether Nintendo or Game Freak have been in contact with PocketGame regarding the designs.

"You are a bunch of scoundrels, changing the name doesn't change absolutely anything, do you take us for fools," questioned @merondepancito. "You've shamelessly copied Pokémon and Palworld, Link from Zelda, and on top of that one of the designs is from an artist."

The PocketGame account responded to say they'll be in contact with the title's art director regarding the accusations.

Pickmos was originally announced for a PS5 release, but it's up in the air whether the title will ever see the light of day. Do you think it will? Let us know in the comments below.
