Hazelight Studios has tapped into something pretty special with its two-player-only action adventure games, with all three titles being big success stories.
The developer, led by outspoken director Josef Fares, has just announced it has reached cumulative sales of over 50 million units across A Way Out, It Takes Two, and Split Fiction.
It's celebrated with a fun video shared to its social accounts:
The post above also highlights sales information for each of its games.
A Way Out is at an impressive 13 million, while It Takes Two is far and away Hazelight's best seller, having surpassed 30 million sales to date.
The team's newest game, the excellent Split Fiction, has reached 7 million copies sold, just over a year since its launch in March 2025.
It's testament to the quality of the games and their originality that they've found such success. They aren't perfect, but nobody else is making co-op experiences quite like this trio of titles.
Which is your favourite Hazelight game so far, and what do you hope to see in its fourth? Tell us in the comments section below.

I enjoyed both it takes two and split fiction for their gameplay but I didn't really care for the protagonists of either.
Split fiction will never hit the sales of it takes two as it takes two was cheaper, released during COVID, won multiple goty awards and is more accessible from a gameplay standpoint.
Split fiction really pushed my wife's gaming skills to the limit.
Interested to see what hazelight have cooking as they fly the flag of local co-op
I think It Takes Two is PERFECT, but Split Fiction has a more "gamey" experience if you know what I mean, its more difficult and more dense gameplay with less reliance on gimmick moments, for me is a close tie, but today I'm feeling Split Fiction is the better one!
I wish I could play Split Fiction, but breaking up with an *ssh*le delayed that indefinitely lmao. Hopefully, I find a way, it looks incredible!
Me and my wife playes it takes 2 but didn't get to finish it, difficult getting time we can both play games at same time and also have the energy to do so lol.
I want to play split fiction but as my wife's not used to 3rd person action games it may not be a good fit for us
A Way Out>Split Fiction>>>>>>>>>>>>>>It Takes Two>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Brothers.
I am really sad that Split Fiction wasn't talked enough, it was better than ITT in every way. Especially that finale is something else. Hope their next game is more story focused like A Way Out though.
It takes 2 is actually my least favorite. Still amazing but Split Fiction and A Way Out were just masterclass imo. Hope Split Fiction cracks 10 mill.
It takes two selling 30m is insane. That's keeping up with the likes of Elden Ring.
This is well deserved, their games are so enjoyable. Can't wait for the next one.
I enjoyed all 3, great games! But I think Split Fiction was just on another level for it's level/game design, innovation and pure fun!
Their next game will be a day one buy I'm sure.
Good for them. Well deserved success. Hope their next game is couch co-op too, it is a truly underserved market and these guys do it great.
@Scottyy the finale of split fiction is amazing and something I’ve never seen before. I’ve loved all their games and can’t wait to see what’s next for them
I've never played A Way Out but It Takes Two and Split Fiction are two of the best co-op games I've ever played.
