LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is coming very soon to PS5, launching on 22nd May 2026, and it looks like a very promising plastic superhero romp.
Its big hook is that it's a celebration of everything Batman, blending together elements from various stories to tell the broad-strokes tale of the caped crusader — in LEGO form.
That means it's packed to the rafters with references to the comic books, TV shows, feature films, and video games. Now, WB Games has revealed that a very recent, new iteration of the character is part of the fun too.

Absolute Batman is included as one of the outfits you can equip on your Bruce Wayne, and Catwoman's Absolute variant is also available.
For the uninitiated, Absolute Batman is a new spin on the character, written by Scott Snyder.
In this version of the Batman legend, Bruce Wayne is a blue collar worker by day, but a vigilante by night. Rather than inheriting his parents' fortune, this rendition of the character is strapped for cash, and makes his suit, armour, and equipment himself.
It's been a super popular new take on the superhero, so this will certainly go down well with the fans. It also means Legacy of the Dark Knight will be the debut of Absolute Batman away from the comics.

I saw that they recreated the scene from the 89 movie where the Joker and his goons destroy an art gallery complete with Prince's Party Man.
Not sure I like the idea of making Bruce Wayne destitute, it’s like saying superman isn’t from Krypton. Some things just are.
@themightyant Well the whole point of the Absolute universe is that its a universe created by Darkseid where evil and tyranny are winning. The question asked is can these heroes still be heroes despite them all having a massive change in origins.
Its actually a great series and its a big reason DC is killing it in sales as the Absolute series is very popular.
@themightyant It's an Elseworld series which the main selling point is the characters get different origins / story compare to the main continuity.
@themightyant I don’t get it, how’s being poor a bigger betrayal to Batman than being a killer? That sounds quite bizarre and narrow-minded on your end. There’s multiple Batman elseworld stories where he’s poor or lives in a not-so-rich environment, like when he’s a caveman riding a dinasaur, or a Zorro-like figure, or a pirate.
@PuppetMaster @DennisReynolds very well said, it’s popular for a good reason. The memes were funny, sure, but they’re not entirely indicative of its quality. I’d even go as far as to say absolute Batman has been more engaging to me than any modern marvel comic I picked up over the last 2 years.
@Yousef- iirc, in the main continuity, Bruce Wayne also got poor after the Joker War storyline where Joker stolen $100 billion of Wayne ent. money and assets. He even lost his manor and batcave and forced to live in some dingy apartment or something but still suit up as Batman with very limited gadgets.
