Spanish developer Out of the Blue has announced its follow-up to Call of the Sea, a solid, stylised puzzler from 2021 will release on PS5 next month. Call of the Elder Gods comes to PS5 on 12th May 2026, and you can get the latest look in a trailer above.
Once again focusing on puzzle-solving, the sequel is said to feature brain teasers with more depth. You'll play as two characters this time, Harry and Evangeline, and solve puzzles across space and time. Hints, icons, and journal entries can be toggled on or off to match the difficulty to your preferred play style.

"Follow Harry Everhart and Evangeline Drayton as they search for the truth about their missing loved ones and come face-to-face with beings beyond their understanding." The story has been inspired by The Shadow of Time by H. P. Lovecraft, and features voice talent from Marvel's Spider-Man (Yuri Lowenthal) and Firewatch (Cissy Jones).
If you're looking to get caught on the first game, Call of the Sea is available on PS Plus Extra now. We awarded the title a 6/10 in our PS5 review and praised its puzzle design and tropical setting. "Call of the Sea is a mostly fun puzzle game that falls short on the mystery it tries to have you unveil."

I really enjoyed my time with Call of the sea, great, memorable game. Great game if you enjoy point and click games.
Yeah I liked the original too. Smaller indie gem, particularly so if you enjoy elements of Lovecraftian cosmic horror. Some of the puzzles were head scratchers, but not in a bad way. Lots of nods and references to classic HPL short stories too.
