Two games you wouldn't expect to see in the same sentence are Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Rematch, but it turns out they were two of the best-selling PS5 games on PS Store last month.
In fact, they trade places exactly in the North American and European charts; Kojima Productions' sequel lands number one in the former and fourth in the latter, and it's the reverse for Sloclap's popular football game.
We've yet to see official sales numbers for DS2, though going by this, it's clearly doing pretty well. On the other hand, Rematch's multiplatform launch has resulted in over one million sales and three million total players.

Elsewhere, the remainder of the charts look about how you'd expect, with evergreen games like GTA 5 and Minecraft still competing and some recent titles such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Forza Horizon 5 in the top 10.
As for PS4 games, Star Wars Battlefront 2 continues its recent winning streak by topping both the NA and EU charts. The PSVR2 charts are dominated by Skydance's Behemoth.
Free-to-play sees Splitgate 2 take first place in America, settling for fourth in Europe, where Fortnite remains king.

A 2 for 1 sub heading, love it.
Really good to see how successful Rematch is. None of the F2P aggressive monetisation, just a fun game to play with friends that you buy once and own. That model really isn’t dead then.
Amazing subheadline.
GTA5 still in the top 3 😵💫
Finished Death Stranding 2's main story a few days ago. Absolutely deserves the #1 spot.
Expedition 33 still charting is nice.
@nessisonett It has premium currency that you buy with real money, and a battle pass
Rematch? Never heard of it until this article. And not surprising to see the region totals. I, like many americans, have no affinity towards soccer, but do love shooting things. So seeing rematch at 4 in the NA charts, but 1 in the eu charts and ds 2 at 1 in NA makes conplete sense.
rematch is a good game if you can master it
Completely Nightreign was a thing, crazy to say I know considering it's FromSoft !!
Nice to see DS 2 success in US & EU
That reference… I love you! What’s wenger doing sending Walcott on that early?
@SeaDaVie None of it is pay to win, compared to FIFA, NBA 2K etc.
@nessisonett Sure, it's a step up from sports games(as I understand it) and gacha's but purely cosmetics is the norm in most genres
Hey @get2sammyb would you consider a Push Square analysis piece on the sales longevity of GTAV? I mean, how is it possible for one game to dominate like this and chart in the top 10 for such an eternity? Maybe the answer is obvious (good games have long legs) but I do find it extraordinary.
For long term sales one month means nothing tbh. I question how much death stranding 2 will actually sell
@SeaDaVie This is a sports game though. In terms of football, you literally only have FIFA or PES, both of which have been ruined by MTX.
Despite the campaign to make it look like a massive success, AC Shadows really came and went like a fart in the wind. No long tail at all. Right along Veilguard, SW Outlaws and a few other duds that the legacy media unsuccessfully tried to push.
@Shad361 DS 2 already sold roughly around 1.4 million copies from 26th-30th June or 5 days. Possibly it could surpass DS 1 numbers that sold 3 million copies in 5 months.
I had a small part to contribute to Resident Evil Village’s second wind. Being on sale for $10 definitely made pop back up onto the charts.
@Oram77 Nightreign is good but too many players have no idea what to do which makes each run a time limited slog, then DS2 came out.
