DigixArt, the developer behind Road 96, is doing something very different with its next game, Tides of Tomorrow.
Now confirmed for PS5, this curious multiplayer experience comes to Sony's console on 24th February, 2026.
Tides of Tomorrow is an adventure game in which every player's run through the story will have an impact on everyone else's.
"Usually, games with asynchronous multiplayer are focusing on systems and gameplay interactions," explains game director Adrien Poncet on PS Blog. "We saw an opportunity to go further: to let players truly influence each other’s stories through their decisions."

Set in a colourful sci-fi water world, the game has you picking another player to "follow" — this will be a friend or stranger that has played the game before you.
You're then thrust into the adventure, which has you exploring the world by boat and interacting with NPCs throughout the game.
However, whatever your chosen player's actions were during their playthrough will directly impact what happens in your version of the story. Equally, whatever you do will leave a mark on someone else's journey through the game.
It's a fascinating idea, and we can't wait to learn if DigixArt can pull off what sounds like a very ambitious plan.

Oh Assynchronous, well not much that appealing or that clear what it was by a vague trailer. XD
It gave off Titanfall 1 type vibes of look we have a story we care about and world but it's multiplayer so it may be good.
It also gave me Remember Me or Sunset Overdrive or something.
Multiplayer story works if co-op otherwise why bother, no one cares they want multiplayer matches that's it.
The setting is 'cool' but the multiplayer approach gives no confidence in how it will handle it.
Not my type of game but very confusing what it's going for, as fair setting/artstyle but very unclear what the product is.
Most original mp concept I've seen in 10 plus years.
Road 96 was an excellent game they have my interest
