Sony is reportedly set to offer an official PS5 console bundle containing a digital copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in the near future. That's despite the series being owned by a rival hardware manufacturer.
Reliable leaker Billbil-Kun made the claim on the Dealabs website, where they suggested that the base PS5 system will get two bundles: one for the system's digital edition and a second for the disc drive-equipped version. They don't know the release date of the bundles nor the official prices, but suggest the disc-drive version could be $450 and the digital edition $400.
Of course, console bundles such as this are of little surprise at this point, as Microsoft continues its multi-platform efforts. Gears of War: Reloaded was confirmed for PS5 yesterday, and Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition releases for Sony's current-gen box in a matter of hours. Presumably, a portion of each sale from these bundles will go to Microsoft.
Sony recently announced a wave of PS5 price increases, so whether the cost will stay the same in the USA remains to be seen. The likes of the UK, Europe, and Australia have all been made to pay more for a PS5 in recent months. One reason given for the price hikes was the "challenging economic environment, including high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates".

Maybe it's because I'm not young anymore, but I just can't see CoD being a massive system seller, like hasn't the player base for BO6 fallen off a cliff?
"whether the cost will stay the same in the USA remains to be seen"
At this point I think they are just waiting it out to see how this Tarriff madness stands, once they have sold their pre imported stock (before tarriffs came into effect). Then they will do the same as others and announce massive US price increases.
Not surprised since Playstation is still the "home" for Call of Duty.
@Oram77 nah its still the top or one of the top sellers every year as well as a paid game the casuals actually buy
@RagnarLothbrok That's true forgot how popular it is with casuals.
@Medic_alert completely I can see MS bowing out of the hardware space after this next console, they are making so much money porting their games in PS5 at the moment.
What is happening over there? I doubt there will be a next Xbox despite what MS says. Crazy times.
Jim Ryan is smiling somewhere
@Greifchen its already been greenlighted
I will soon play my Sony Xbox Pro that I just picked up. What a weird world.
Xbox is migrating to Playstation pretending to be Playstation. Imagine you are Japan and you have been to war with America, and America declares that it lost. Then, all of a sudden all American citizens starts moving to Japan. Their American children that were cheering them on now are like: Invite us in, Japan! Jamarican will be their new identity. And they'll be cheering Japan on. It is almost creepy. They' in our house, and camping in our garden!!😅🤣
@Kraaatos I don't think much of the guy (Jim) but I totally read this in Liquid-Ocelot's voice remembering the scene in MGS4 lying on his back "somewhere up there.. I know he's laughing"
@Medic_alert Someone said, "don't think of Xbox like PlayStation. Think of them like if EA did everything they already do, but just so happened to also make a console."
Perfectly summed it up
Cod sells more consoles than any of the recent PlayStation exclusives
@Toot1st And? MS also said its only 4 games coming to other platforms… plans can change.
Assuming those prices hold, this would be an amazing value.
@Oram77 no
@Shad361 Cod sells more consoles than any of the recent PlayStation exclusives
Correct, like WAY more. It’s as if no one knows that exclusive games not named Nintendo don’t stay in the top 10 best sellers list for long and the games that sell consoles to the masses is COD, FIFA and Madden alongside Minecraft and Fortnite and GTA. Take those players away and PS sold around 20 million consoles and Xbox has sold around 4 million consoles.
@Greifchen if you think xbox are not producing anymore hardware you really have no idea. Please save this comment somewhere so we can come back to it in 3-4 years
@Toot1st Do as you like
@Greifchen What's happening is XBox is raking in the cash and fortifying its lead in Cloud gaming. Sony meanwhile appears to be prepping for another GAAS disaster with Marathon.
GamePass is too successful and btings in too much money for MS to abandon hardware. There will be another XBox generation.
But both Sony and MS have admitted that consoles as a form factor is dying. Both are moving towards an app based future focussing on Cloud and Streaming. MicroSoft abandoning exclusivity makes a lot more sense with that in mind. And with the hybrid PC model XBox is embracing, XBox has a USP PS can't match.
With PS also moving away from exclusives, and embracing a 3rd party multi-plat approach that will see PS games on other platforms including XBox, there's really nothing in it other than whether you like the design
