In a press release, Akira Yamaoka said he's poured a "tremendous amount" of passion and thought into the Silent Hill series while working as its composer. Writing this music was a personal challenge, but I feel a deep sense of gratitude towards the people around the world who have loved this series for so long."

One of 2024's best PS5 games, Silent Hill 2 provided a phenomenal experience, and the soundtrack worked to create a terrifying, suspenseful atmosphere throughout the town. In our Silent Hill 2 PS5 review, we awarded a 9/10 and said the PS2 classic has been modernised in "all the right ways".
