Elden Ring Will Get Its A24 Movie Adaptation, with Alex Garland in the Director's Seat 1

Video game movies are big business these days, and Bandai Namco will be putting its faith in esteemed production house A24 and English director Alex Garland to bring Elden Ring’s artistry to the big screen.

The flick has been rumoured for some time, but Deadline has now confirmed the project is in production, following the recent release of Garland’s acclaimed military epic, Warfare. Game of Thrones author and Elden Ring contributor George R. R. Martin will help produce the movie.

This isn’t the first time Garland has been involved with Bandai Namco. Fascinatingly, he was a co-writer on Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, a really fantastic PS3-era action adventure game from Ninja Theory.

It’ll be interesting to see how Elden Ring is adapted for the big screen. Obviously, its dark fantasy world will likely look stunning in cinemas, but much of its story is told more through atmosphere than traditional narrative – although we appreciate there are people who go nutty for developer FromSoftware’s lore.

Would you be willing to watch a movie based on Elden Ring? Do you have high hopes for this adaptation at all? Predict the popcorn bucket in the comments section below.
