Ancient PS3 Game Killer Is Dead Announces Sales Milestone After 12 Years 1

This author reviewed Killer Is Dead an incredible 12 years ago, but honestly doesn’t remember much about it. It was a Suda51 joint in an era where Lollipop Chainsaw and Shadows Of The Damned had attracted mainstream attention, but we didn’t think it hit the same levels.

“Killer Is Dead shows that Suda51’s schtick is swiftly running out of steam,” we whined.

“The title’s sharp art style and snazzy soundtrack will no doubt lure you in, but the schlocky story and garish gigolo missions will leave you swatting at the air in regret.

“This is not a bad game, it’s just a boring one – and we never thought that we’d say that about a release that sees you chasing a tiger on a motorcycle.”

Either way, the game’s just surpassed one million sales, 12 years since release.

It’s likely most of those sales will have been contributed by Steam, where it regularly gets discounted, and – surprisingly – Xbox, where it’s backwards compatible. Frustratingly for PS3 owners, the game’s not currently playable on PS5 or PS4 in any capacity.
