Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has taken a simple update on PS5 today to fix some bugs and clear up game stability. It's now available to download, and applies the following changes:
- Fixes to bugs that would very occasionally prevent game progress under specific conditions.
- Fixes that allow the player to acquire photo frames if a bug occurs that would prevent their acquisition after fulfilling the relevant unlock conditions.
- Fixes to bugs that are triggered under specific circumstances in battle.
- Fixes to a bug where information was not shown on screen when selecting to play Stage 2 of the Gambit Gears mini game on Hard Mode.
- Fixes to several display-related bugs.
- Improvements to the overall game stability.

If I can pull myself away from Helldivers 2 long enough to play this, I'm sure the game is in amazing shape now.
There were certainly bugs that crushed the game in Graphics mode if the situation became chaotic in the Brutal Challenges. Hopefully, it has been fixed.
@Keyblade-Dan why what’s wrong with it lol I just picked this up yesterday and I’m dying to start it but the trophy completionist inside won’t let me until NFS unbound is done 🤦♂️
Stellar Blade and Unicorn Overlord both pulled me away from FF7 Rebirth. It’s a game I need to get back to.
@Mikey856 if you’ve played the original FF7, Rebirth is a most faithful reimagining of the story beats from disc 1. Can’t really get into the controversial stuff without spoilers unfortunately.

Does the update remove the mandatory mini games?
I’m about 70 hours into it, easily my game of the year so far.
@Odium No, neither does it change the requirements. I still have nightmares form the Tifa abs minigame.

@belmont I’ll get back to it eventually but I stopped 40 hours in because I got so sick of mini games. I must have stopped before that one because it doesn’t sound familiar.

@Odium Yes it is in later chapters. Basically, it is a harder version of the Tifa gum mini game from the first game.
