We're getting very close to the summer season of gaming news, and as always, things are beginning to heat up in the rumour department. Sony's long-talked-about PlayStation Showcase has yet to materialise, but the rumours keep flying, and now we have some fresh insight from reputable leaker, billbil-kun, about Concord.
Sony's next exclusive PS5 title is Firewalk Studios' sci-fi multiplayer shooter, Concord, and we'll apparently be seeing a lot more of it very soon. So far, we've only had a CG teaser for the game, and if it really is due to launch later in 2024, we'll have to start seeing it sooner or later, so this rumour definitely makes sense.
According to billbil-kun, Sony is planning to share "a portion of the playable characters in the game with a glimpse of the gameplay". It's estimated that this new information will surface "within 15 days".
In exactly 15 days from the time of this post, Geoff Keighley will hold his annual Summer Game Fest live showcase. It's possible that Concord will show up during this event, but with so much noise about a potential PlayStation Showcase taking place soon, it seems just as likely that Sony will present this new info before then.
Either way, with billbil-kun's history of accurate PS Plus leaks and other gaming announcements, it seems likely we'll learn more about the next first-party PS Studios title soon, which is quite exciting. If showcase is not happening they should just say it, instead of having people anticipate one.

I'd agree with you if they were the ones that suggested they were having a showcase.
But they didnt, it's just part of the endless rumour mill.
I do agree however that they need to do so now, so I hope they will announce one soon. I think part of the wait has been to get the new heads of business appointed so they can agree what will be shown. As this happened pretty recently, they are now in a state where they should be able to agree this and get a show started. I'd certainly like to see one!

@Americansamurai1 Perhaps. But only in a tiny segment of the gaming crowd that looks at websites/forums AND cares that they don't get what they want when they want it. The VAST majority don't care, the showcase will happen when it happens. Getting "bitter" because it isn't announced when you want is a YOU problem.
(edit: that last line came out more aggressively than intended. That wasn't my intention, more pointing out that they haven't even mentioned a showcase, idle speculation is not their problem, it's only a problem of those that get worried by such things)
It's an optimistic pie in the sky type prediction, but I think there's a chance this gets shadow dropped during the showcase. There was an early year sizzle reel trailer from Playstation that seemed to show games off in release order which seemingly placed Concord around this time. Don't remember the exact details and it could've been at the end with just TBA 2024 games or been delayed since, but there's some reason to believe it could happen.
It's already past 3pm in the UK so it's looking very much like no showcase for next week. Possibly just a regular State of Play like in 2022.
