Young Horses, the studio behind the PS5 launch title Bugsnax, has announced it's turning the indie hit into a card game. The developer requires $15,000 of funding on Kickstarter to make it a reality, with orders currently being accepted from the USA. The team plans to begin shipping the card game in October 2024 for those supporting the campaign, and then international orders will be accepted roughly one month later.

A $25 pledge from USA occupants gets you a physical version of the card game, while those interested internationally can for now pledge $5 to get a digital edition that can be printed out on paper. "Take on the role of your favorite Grumpus and use their unique ability cards, along with your tricky traps, to outwit the other players and overcome the Bugsnax defenses," the Kickstarter page reveals. "Be the first to chow down on 6 points worth of Bugsnax, and you’ll be crowned the Snakmaster General!"

Buying a copy of the card game gives you six standard decks and another 10 that are considered more advanced, with all of them themed around characters from the PS5, PS4 game. Games are designed for two to six players, and are expected to last 20 to 30 minutes. The main goal is to eat six points worth of Bugsnax, which is done by placing trap cards to capture them and then eating them from your hand.

An actual product rather than an April Fool's joke, will you buy the Bugsnax card game? Let us know in the comments below.
