Shantae, WayForward's well-liked action platformer series, started life on Nintendo's Game Boy Colour in the early noughties, and a sequel for the Game Boy Advance started production but was never finished. Now, 20 years later, the game is finally set to see the light of day; Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution is heading to multiple platforms, including PS5 and PS4, next year.
As you can see in the trailer above, the game retains an old school visual style, no doubt a nod to its origins. The gameplay that fans are familiar with looks to be very much intact: attacking with a whip of Shantae's hair, transforming into animals with unique abilities, and altering stages as you play. In addition to the single player story, there will be a four-player battle mode to enjoy.
