The Last of Us 2 Remastered PS5

Elements from the new Lost Levels set to feature in The Last of Us Part II Remastered will be incorporated into the TV show's second season, Neil Druckmann has revealed. While it's possible for plans to change since filming hasn't begun yet, he told Entertainment Weekly "there is at least one element from a cut level that is planned [for] the show".

More details will be shared soon, but we know the three Lost Levels in the remastered PS5 version are called Jackson Party, Sewers, and Boar Hunt. Though they are not completely finished, you'll be able to explore the environments and learn "the intention of the level, what was going on in the sequence, and ultimately why it was cut". It's possible those elements will now be expanded upon further in the TV show's second season, which is due to begin filming at the start of next year.

Druckmann continues: "Think of these as levels left on the cutting room floor, that for various reasons didn’t make it into the final game. These are a new attempt from us to lift the curtain on the development process, and I hope players appreciate the insight into what did and didn’t make it into the final game." Alongside the three Lost Levels, there'll be a new rogue-like mode called No Return that introduces a fresh combat experience with many alternative playable characters.
