PS5 Discounts Keep Console, Accessories Selling Gangbusters in the UK

I don't get it. What about all the Switch games that keep charting? Is it because Nintendo doesn't share any digital data?

At any rate, sad to see so many old games and remasters doing so well, but good for Armored Core VI.

If anyone still wonders why we don't get any original IPs, this is the reason. Sequels and remasters is what people want (with a few exceptions, I guess).

@naruball Maybe we are seeing the „cliff“ of Switch sales. Switch 2 launch in March 2024 would be a perfect timing.

Wishful thinking perhaps, but I would love to see BG3 at the top of that list for September. Hopefully it was well supported on console because Larian deserve it.

@Max_the_German I get that about hardware sales, but in terms of software, don't Switch games typically dominate the UK top 10 week after week?

Red Dead Redemption 1 selling like hotcakes just goes to show that people on websites like these are the VAST minority when it comes to gamers.

People complained about the $50 price tag and the masses have shown they don't mind it. These practices shall sadly continue.

@naruball Yep. This is PS5 physical and digital. Switch is only ever physical.

@naruball the game industry will likely be moving towards the movie industry. It is much cheaper to rehash old ideas/games than make new ones. We asked for it, then celebrated it and here it is. It will only get worse.

I personally hate it.

Super happy AC6 seems to be doing well. Coming in 2nd to Europe's soccer obsession ain't bad.

Not only are Switch digital games missing but some publishers don't report.

These lists are less than useless. The fact blogs continue to report on them probably keeps them going even though they have no real value. if they stopped - they would have to try harder to get good data.

If Baldur's Gate 3 had a physical release, it would undoubtedly be on the list, but it does not.

Sony is enjoying some well-deserved success. Hopefully, they remain on top. It would be a real shame if Microsoft's strategy of buying their way to dominance worked.

@TheCollector316 i think only the game industry biz prints both every month. But like I pointed out - it is incredibly inconsistent. Not worth the ink imo. but here we are chatting about it

@Max_the_German accurate assumption. Also, children turn 6 and they get MK8. It is likely a cultural right of passage now. At 6 MK8, at 13 GTA V - like every american family going to Disney World at least once or getting your ping-pang cut at birth.
